November 19th lunar eclipse

19/11/2021

RAMESH S KRISHNA

Introduction:
A lunar eclipse will happen when moon enters earth's shadow. It would happen when we have a full moon . This is more like a transit method which helps us to find a exoplanet.  I'll tell you in detail about solar eclipse when it happens! So, stay tuned with by blog page! While a full moon is raising, it would be red.

How does a lunar eclipse happen?:

I've mentioned only for a lunar eclipse. Do not confuse with a solar eclipse. A lunar eclipse happen when moon enter's earth's shadow. There are 2 shadows of earth.

Penumbra:  Its the lighter & 1st part of the shadow. It generally happens in the edges of earth[while its evening in the point]. Light entering earth's atmosphere would scatter & go to deep space. The light which goes is blue in color.
Umbra: It is the darkest part of shadow. Its the place where moon turns red. It will be late in the night at the location of Umbra.

Types of lunar eclipse:

Total: It happens when Moon, Earth & the Sun are perfectly aligned. It will happen when moon is in the umbral shadow. Moon will turn sunset red color. The longer wave-length, colors like red will be bent & sent to moon.

Partial:  Earth, Moon & The sun wouldn't perfectly align . The part of a moon will turn very dark. From a full moon to waning/waxing gibbous.

Penumbral: It will happen when moon passes through penumbral shadow. It is very subtle that many wouldn't notice at all.
