When is the 1st starship launch?

By Ramesh S Krishna

Introduction:
Starship is a fully re-useable super-heavy launch system developed by SpaceX to take humans to MOON, MARS & DEEP SPACE DESTINY. 120M in height & 9M in diameter. It is the most powerful rocket when in operation. It could take 100+ Metric tonnes to Low Earth Orbit. It has two stages,:

Super heavy:
Super heavy is the booster that helps the ship to escape the thicker part of the atmosphere. It has a gross liftoff mass of over 3 million kg and uses sub-cooled liquid methane and liquid oxygen (CH4/LOX) propellants. It is 70m tall[ The whole height of FALCON 9] & 9M in diameter. Super heavy has a propellant capacity of 3400 tonnes! Starship's 1st stage has more than 32 raptor engines. The number keeps increasing with time. The super-heavy is only be used on earth.

Starship:

The ship has 3 sea-level raptors & 3 RVAC[ VACUUM RAPTOR].  Just as super heavy, it is 9M in diameter. But, only 50M in height. Even though it's 50m in height, it can carry 1400 tonnes of fuel.
It offers an integrated payload section and is capable of carrying passengers and cargo to Earth orbit, interplanetary destinations & place to place destinations on earth.

The intro part is over. It's topic time?!

When is the 1st starship launch?
The first starship launch is going to be on SN20 & B4. Most of the things are ready except FAA & FCC's permission.  The key questions are:

When will B4 have a cryo-proof test?
When will FAA/FCC give go for launch permission?
Are the heat shields ready for Ship-20?
There are lots of questions.

FAA has kept a feedback thing on STARSHIP's 1st launch. There is an e-mail id given for it. The feedback thing closes o  NOV1. After NOV 1, FAA & SPACEX will see what is the reply from people. This would take at least 2 months at a normal rate. The most probable time is  late December nor early 2022. This can change if STARBASE moves at a rate of 9X wrap.

  1. Great! You are using a simple and direct language, which reflects how good are in your understanding of the subject. You can write an account of various space shuttles launched in the last 40 years and enlighten people like me. Looking forward to reading many of your pieces. Keep it up!
